Blessing of the Fleet

Blessing of the Fleet, 04/01/09

Blessing of the Fleet 2009The traditional "Blessing of the Fleet" took place on Sunday 4th January at 6pm beside the beautiful Moyne River near the Bait Shed.

Officiating was Bishop Peter Connors, Catholic Bishop of Ballarat, with about 100 people attending.

It was a pleasant sunny evening with a cool breeze and great to see both young and old, residents and holiday makers; still finding time in our busy lives to spend some quiet moments listening to prayers, psalms, hymns a short address and a memorial list of those who have lost their lives at sea after leaving the Port of Port Fairy.  2 Craft attended.
